When it comes to keeping Anaheim's families and businesses safe, Ashleigh knows that listening to our city’s public safety experts and utilizing impartial science is the key to ensuring our city has the proper number of highly trained firefighters, paramedics, and emergency responders to answer the call when you dial 911.
“Ashleigh Aitken understands that fire & rescue response is a core function of government,” states Rob Lester, President of the Anaheim Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 2899. “She knows it is the essential responsibility of government to keep our families and businesses safe.”
Over the last 25 years, emergency calls have doubled while the number of firefighters who keep us safe has fallen.
Ensuring that the correct number of highly trained firefighters, paramedics, and emergency responders arrive when you call 911 is a crucial and essential government responsibility.
In addition to her understanding that strong public safety enhances all aspects of our city, Firefighters were also very impressed with Aitken’s knowledge of the many challenges that will present themselves over the next mayor’s term: increased homelessness, social disparity, and daily threats to small business.
